What exactly is the Hume Band?
Think of it as a longevity tracker for your wrist. Instead of centering on workout stats, it keeps a running read on biological age, metabolic momentum, blood pressure trends, heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen (SpO2), sleep stages, and skin temperature — all off a single charge that stretches up to 14 days.
Do I need a phone to use it?
The band collects and holds onto data on its own, but you'll still want the free Hume Health app (iOS and Android) close by to sync everything and see your daily insights. Your phone doesn't have to stay within range the whole time — the band holds several days' worth of readings and syncs automatically the moment you're back near it.
Is it waterproof?
Yes — the Hume Band carries an IP68 rating, so it's dustproof and holds up to 1 meter of water for up to 2 hours. Showering, swimming, or sweating through a tough workout with it on is completely fine.
How accurate are the readings?
A setup of 5 LEDs and 4 photodiodes lets the Hume Band sample biometric signals more often than most comparable wearables, and its accuracy has held up through internal lab testing plus independent third-party comparisons. Like any optical wrist sensor, results can shift slightly based on fit, skin tone, and movement — for the steadiest readings, wear it snug, roughly a finger's width above the wrist bone.
